Derivatives trading and risk management in Energy, Mining and Resources sectors

FINA 40202A
This course will allow students to understand the exchange-traded and over-the-counter traded derivatives products (Forwards, Futures, Swaps, Options) on underlyings related to the energy, mining and resources sectors. Students will first be introduced to the trading mechanics of these instruments and to the role of the different market participants in the trading decision making process and position management. The use and application of these products will then be considered in risk management and speculation strategies.
