Comparative Perspectives on Societal Issues and Business Organisations

GEST 60401A
The course is based on the reading and discussion of fundamental texts in social science, more particularly in economics, sociology, anthropology and history. The objective is for students to apprehend major social and environmental issues and to see business organizations from a global perspective. The course thus aims at supporting students in becoming critically minded and ethically oriented actors of society and of the business world, in order to address business ethics issues and major social and environmental issues in a more informed and reflexive way. A key aspect of the course is coteaching: two instructors - one from the Department of applied economics, one from the Department of management - coteach the course, thereby providing comparative perspectives on major social and environmental issues, business organizations, and management.
