You must successfully complete 54 credits divided into four segments.

The full-time MBA program takes place over the course of one year, including the summer term. Courses and exams are all held in person.

The part-time MBA program takes place over two years and is only available in French. We invite you to view the Courses page in French for more information.

Segment 1: Acquire fundamentals (32 credits)

Duration: 7 months (full-time MBA)

Explore and master management tools and practices as part of a team. You will acquire advanced skills that will help solve real, complex business problems in all types of organizations and businesses.

These courses and the integration activity are compulsory.

Segment 2: Refine your strategic thinking (12 credits)

Duration: 3 and a half months (full-time MBA)

Build on the fundamentals in line with your career goals.

You can:

  • Follow one of the four specializations and obtain a certification in addition to your diploma;
  • Create your personalized pathway.


Each option offers the possibility of taking courses from the following categories:

  • Managing Projects (preparation for PMI certification exams);
  • Creative Destruction Lab (supporting the development of a tech start-up);
  • Campus (immersion in a foreign business culture or group cycling adventure to explore sustainable business models in Québec).

Course offerings may vary.

Segment 3: Apply your learning (4 credits)

Duration: 1 and a half months (full-time MBA)

In keeping with your professional interests, you will work in a small team on a complex, experiential integration project within an organization.

This mandate is a unique opportunity to put to good use the knowledge and skills you have acquired during the program, and to expand your professional network.

Segment 4: Explore leadership principles and practices (6 credits)

Duration: throughout the program (full-time MBA)

Become a more impactful and influential leader by immersing yourself in HEC Montréal’s rich business ecosystem.

Our personal development workshops are unique in Québec. They start with a coaching program that pairs you with a high-profile manager.

All workshops are compulsory.

The amounts below are approximate. For the detailed amounts per credit or per term, see the tuition fee schedule for full-time MBA (PDF, 105 KB) or part-time MBA in French only (PDF, 105 KB). These amounts do not include the cost of health insurance, course materials, housing, or other expenses.

Each term, you will receive a bill with the exact amount you owe based on your credit load.

To ensure the proper rate is applied, you may need to provide documents proving your legal status once you have been admitted.
