This course is part of two courses: this one focuses mainly on the deployment of capital (investment) and the course Finance 2 which deals with the raising of capital (financing). The objective of this first course is to acquire the capacity to develop the financial strategy of the firm and to implement its mission by the prospective analysis of financial data to design investment projects. More specifically, the course aims to develop the following skills: (i) use of data to develop financial forecasting models, and (ii) establish financial strategies. At the end of this course, the student must be able to: (i) discuss and decide on investment projects, (ii) take a critical look at the financial forecasts and the underlying assumptions, and (iii) understand the impact of investment decisions on value creation and on the firm's stakeholders.
Course Sustainability, Social Responsibility and Ethics Integration
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility issues are integrated throughout the course, particularly in the context of bond and equity valuation, as well as investment decision-making.
