Finance 2: Financing

This course is part 2/2: Finance 1 which focuses on the deployment of capital (investment) and the latter on the raising of capital (financing). The objective of this second course is to acquire the ability to develop the firm's financing strategy and implement its mission by analyzing capital cost, sources and structure. More specifically, the course aims to develop the following skills: (i) Establish the cost of capital (ii) Know the different types of securities, (iii) Know the financing alternatives, and (iv) Decide on the capital structure. At the end of this course, the student must be able to: (i) Discuss and decide on the financing of the firm, (ii) Decide on the best strategy to ensure access to capital at the best possible conditions, and (iii) Understand the impact of financing decisions on value creation and the impact on stakeholders of the firm. Course Sustainability, Social Responsibility and Ethics Integration. Issues of sustainability and corporate social responsibility are integrated into topics such as the analysis of different financing sources and decisions related to capital structure.
