A majority of organizational initiatives, innovations, and changes are created or implemented by projects. The project management discipline has developed significantly in recent years. One of the structured approaches for managing projects uses a plan-driven approach. This course prepares students to manage projects with a structured plan-driven approach. In addition, students finish this course with a deep knowledge of the fundamental theories of project management. This knowledge can be used by those who wish to pursue the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI, www.pmi.org).
