Course details

Global Governance and Economic Diplomacy

INTE 60038A
The course consists of three blocks. In the first block, students are introduced to the basics of economic diplomacy and global governance. In the second block, students discuss a selection of topics that allow them to deepen their understanding of the complexities behind economic diplomacy and global governance. A number of these topics will be chosen by the partner universities who will provide back-up video modules to the instructor. The third block is dedicated to the practice of economic diplomacy and global governance. This includes a simulation exercise that is developed by the OECD: students will be grouped in transnational teams (i.e. each group to include at least one student from each school); they will be given a fixed amount of time to resolve a case study and they will have to work across time-zones, cultures, and disciplines. Students will present the results of their real-time simulation exercise in class.
