This course is complementary to "Develop your negotiation skills" and covers the principle determinants of a negotiation strategy, approaches for intervening as a third party (e.g., mediation) during conflict resolution, the challenges of multicultural negotiations, and techniques for overcoming the psychological and emotional traps that can derail your strategy. During the course, you will be encouraged to experiment with a variety of approaches to negotiating, which are informed by the current scientific research in this area. During interactive discussions, you will draw links between the details of your experiences and the underlying principles of negotiation theory, with the ultimate aim being for you to extract specific lessons relevant to accomplishing your professional goals.
