Course details

Macroeconomics

ECON 20852A
The concepts are used to help students understand and analyze a number of topical macroeconomic issues, such as the rapid growth of Asian economies, the 2008-2009 financial and economic crisis and recovery, etc. The course also seeks to introduce students to modern macroeconomic models in order to facilitate the transition for those who are moving towards higher education in economics. Finally, an important objective of the course is to develop an ability to read and analyze the macroeconomic news: the sessions will normally start with an overview of the main economic events of the last days, and economic news will be strongly integrated into the curriculum.
