Supply Chain Management

We will review the classic literature and the recent research developments pertaining to supply chain management (SCM) including quantitative (survey and secondary data research), qualitative (case studies) and conceptual papers. Articles using mathematical modeling and studies of applied operations research techniques will not be covered. Supply chain management being a wide-ranging field, theoretical lens from other areas of research will often be discussed within the seminar (e.g., resource-based view of the firm, relational view, and transaction cost economics). A particular emphasis will be given to methodological challenges of SCM empirical research. The objective is to help participants to develop critical and creative thinking that fosters rigorous and innovative empirical research in SCM.
